SSL (Secure
Sockets Layer) is the most popular data
encryption technique used on the Web today. For the RaQ
and RaQ 2 servers, it is the only supported version
available and must be purchased online ($99.00 US) from
the Cobalt Networks Web site at: http://www.cobalt.com/
Once you've purchased the
software and downloaded the ".pkg" file to install on
your RaQ or RaQ 2 server, you can follow the
instructions below to administrate and configure
your SSL server.
Please note: keep
in mind that a majority of these commands require
"root" telnet access. If you are not experienced in
using a Unix shell to edit and configure files, you
may want to contact our Sales Team in
order to find a developer or contractor who can assist
you on an hourly basis.

RedHat Secure Web
Server Administration Guide [PostScript] (35.0
MB) This very large file (modem
downloaders beware) is the complete
guide to setup and administration of the generic
Secure Web Server from the RedHat Linux software
company. It covers a lot more ground than the above
PDF file, but can be highly technical at times. It is
intended for experienced Unix site
administrators.
Note: if you
don't have a program to view or print PostScript
files (.ps), you can download "GSview" for
Windows.
